Event description: Audio Described Performances
Audio-description in theatre is a live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production as it unfolds. The description gives only the essential information that a visually impaired patron might miss.
About the show: It’s supposed to be the happiest day of Figaro and Susanna’s lives but will their wedding even go ahead? Count Almaviva is determined to seduce Susanna, but will his wife find out? Will Figaro be able to outwit his master, for the honour of his bride? Or will the young Cherubino confuse matters even more?
Through a series of twists and turns, The Marriage of Figaro will keep you guessing until the final scene, with Mozart’s sublime score brilliantly bringing the action to life.
WNO’s period-set production has all the ingredients of a classic opera. Elegant sets, opulent costumes and an exceptional ensemble cast combine to pay homage to one of the greatest comic operas of its time.
A co-production with Grand Théâtre de Genève
Sung in Italian, with English surtitles
