Event description: As well as hearing about the work of the VCSA from Jackie Jeffrey Chairperson of the VCSA and those who chair the various Forums of Interest, there is much in store.
This years agenda includes keynote speaker, Caroline Slocock from the Panel of Independence for the Voluntary Sector.
Caroline Slocock is the author, on behalf of the Panel on the Independence of the Voluntary Sector, of Independence Undervalued: the Voluntary Sector in 2014. The Independence Panel consists of eight charity experts and was initiated in 2011 by the Baring Foundation to report annually on independence and make recommendations about how it could be strengthened. Caroline is the founding Director of Civil Exchange, a think tank set up to help government and civil society work better together and is also the principal author of The Big Society Audit 2013, which considers how far community empowerment, social action and the opening up public services is being achieved. She is a former Chief Executive of the Equal Opportunities Commission and of Refugee and Migrant Justice and has held many senior roles in Government, including in the Treasury and No 10.
We believe this is always a very good event giving you opportunity to hear about the work of the VCSA during the last year, as well as giving you opportunity to network with other organisations. There are 15 Forums of Interest that make up the Assembly.
