Telford and Wrekin Council are consulting on travel support for children and young people. This is the first stage of a consultation on policies and the support the Council provides to children and young people to get to school and colleges, and for adults to travel to social care services or further education and training. The Council’s ambition for children and young people and vulnerable adults is to provide ‘the right support at the right time to support independence’.
These proposals will affect new applicants for travel assistance to attend maintained educational establishments up to the age of 16 or Year 11.It will also affect people who receive travel assistance support but undergo a significant change in circumstances, for example a house move or change of eligible needs.
Your views are being sought on how the proposed changes will impact on you, your family or organisation.
It is important to be clear that these proposals refer to transport assistance provided by Telford & Wrekin Council and not those provided by third parties such as schools or colleges.
