Event description: Following on from the Taster Session in April 2017, we start The Enabling Church Course a flexible eight-session course exploring how to enrich church life through sharing mission and ministry together with disabled people. Produced collaboratively by national Christian disability-focused organisations this course promotes:
- A theological understanding of disability
- Awareness of resources available
- Development of a local disability-inclusive initiative
The course will run on the following Thursday evenings, 7 pm for 7.30 pm until 9 pm:
- 7th & 14th September,
- 5th, 12th, 19th October and
- 2nd, 9th and 16th November.
Participants may choose to attend the full course, or select sessions of particular interest. After the course, participants are invited to join the local Roofbreakers Group for mutual support.
The course will be led by Revd Dr David Primrose, Director of Transforming Communities, Diocese of Lichfield, who worked with Churches for All to produce the original material. Contributors will include local people with experience of disability. Written material will be available for which a contribution is requested of £5 (full course) or £1 (per session).
