Telford & Wrekin Council are seeking the views of people who use Hackney Carriages, Private Hire cars etc. People who can get involved are the Taxi Users, General Public, Service User Groups, Licence Holders, Parish and Town Councils, Elected Ward Members, Partner Agencies.

Telford & Wrekin Council has responsibility for licensing Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles, Drivers and Operators within the borough of Telford & Wrekin. The purpose of licensing Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles, Drivers and Operators is for the provision of a safe and accessible service to the public, which includes the protection of children and vulnerable people.

This is a large documents as many areas are under review. These have been highlighted in red in the consultation document for ease of reading. There are proposed amendments to the Council’s “Licensing Policy Hackney Carriage and Private Hire; the Council’s Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Criminal Convictions’ Policy; the Council’s Manual of Inspection Standards for Licensed Vehicles; Private Hire Operator Conditions of Licence; Private Hire Vehicle Proprietor Conditions of Licence; Hackney Carriage Proprietor Conditions of Licence; Dual Driver Conditions of Licence.
