The project, which has attracted significant funding from the Department for Transport and developer contributions, aims to rejuvenate the centre of Telford by reducing the impact of the highway, reducing vehicle speeds, improving pedestrian and cycleway facilities and improving access to the town centre for all while ensuring that future growth in the town centre is accommodated.
An exhibition of the proposed works has been on view in the foyer of Addenbrooke House and a press release was issued on 20th September.
The Highways Agency will be undertaking improvements to the Forge roundabout at the M54 junction 5 and work could start on site at that location this week.
The first phase of the remainder of the scheme is anticipated to start next Monday, 28th October at Malinslee and St Quentin’s Gate (near the Telford International Centre) roundabouts.
The attached note is also to be sent to other key local stakeholders such as other public transport and taxi operators, the Senior Citizens Forum, disability groups, the Telford International Centre, local schools etc. However, please feel free to forward this email to other contacts you feel appropriate.
The note will be updated on the Council’s website at www.telford.gov.uk/boxroad as the scheme progresses and you will receive copies of the updates direct. Click link below for the latest information:
