Event description: If you or members of your party would love to enjoy the magic of pantomime but would prefer to watch in a quieter setting then book tickets for our Relaxed Performance. This is a specifically adapted version of the show, modified for adults and children who have autism, sensory communication disorders or learning difficulties. It can also be more suitable for those who have dementia or those who just prefer a lighter environment and fewer bangs.

The script stays the same and the entertainment is no less so book your seats now.

Event description: Relaxed theatre performances are open to all but have been specially designed to welcome families and groups who would benefit from a more relaxed environment, including people with an Autism Spectrum Condition, sensory and communication disorders, or a learning disability.

This is a relaxed performance of Peter Pan, this years Pantomine at The Place, Oakengates, Theatre:

Peter Pan:
Follow the boy who refuses to grow up and his fairy sidekick Tinkerbell as they visit the nursery of Wendy, John and Michael Darling. With a sprinkling of magical fairy dust watch Peter and his new friends fly out the nursery window and over London to Neverland.

Will Peter Pan and his gang defeat the evil Captain Hook and rid Neverland of evil? Why not join us in 2017 to find out.

Oakengates Theatre will be accessible to a wider audience with a special ‘relaxed performance’ for children and adults who may not be comfortable in a traditional theatre setting.

The Concessionary Ticket (where available) applies to children aged 2-16 (unless otherwise stated), full-time students, people aged 60+ and people registered disabled.

The Family Ticket (where available) applies to a group of 4 with a minimum of 2 children (unless otherwise stated).

Children under 2 may sit on a parent’s lap free of charge (unless otherwise stated).

Accessibility:

Disabled parking and access via a ramp to the Theatre main entrance is available. There is a lift for wheelchair users for access to the main auditorium. If you have any special requirements please contact Theatre Enquiries 01952 382370.

Oakengates Theatre provides an Adult Essential Companion Scheme for patrons who need somebody to assist them in accessing our services/facilities. Details and an application form are available here.

Please note that pushchairs and carry-seats cannot be accommodated in the auditorium. Children and babies must be transferred to seats or parents’ laps. Stewards will then store pushchairs and carry-seats until they are required at the interval or end of show. If you have special requirements and need to keep a pushchair with you during a performance, please inform Theatre Enquiries.

Hearing Impairment:

For patrons who have hearing impairments the theatre has an infra-red system available. A refundable £10 deposit is requested when using the headsets. Please advise prior to performance if you have any special requirements.
