Debt advice services in Shropshire survey-Deadline Extended

Shropshire Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly (VCSA), Shropshire Association of Local Council (SALC) and Shropshire Council are working together to better understand the work taking place in Shropshire to provide debt advice and support those people who may have money worries, debt or facing financial hardship.

They hope this survey will help them to shine a light on the work that is already taking place, help identify gaps, and identify support needs and opportunities to develop further partnerships and collaborative working.

The Feedback and Insight team will support with survey analysis, and the aim is that the results will help form a baseline for future research. This survey is open to everyone.

To enable collaboration for the future, they would be interested to know if you would like to attend a money advice forum where they can share the results of the questionnaire and set out future priorities. In the space at the end of the survey you have opportunity to say if you would like to take part.

SALC Community Survey

This survey has been developed in partnership by the Shropshire Association of Local Councils (SALC) and the Shropshire Voluntary and Community Sector Assembly (VCSA). This survey is designed to encourage community-based groups and organisations to highlight key local issues. A very similar survey has been designed for town councils, parish councils and parish meetings. SALC hope to use the survey to learn more about:

  • How local communities have responded to the coronavirus pandemic
  • Any concerns or issues currently being faced or identified community concerns for the future
  • Organisational support needs
  • How local partnerships are benefiting local people
  • Examples of good practice
  • Ideas, suggestions and opportunities for the future

Co-operation between community groups and town and parish councils has always been important, but the results local partnerships achieve have been recognised more than ever during the coronavirus pandemic. Understanding this joint working will be important as we work together to overcome future challenges and recover from the impacts of the pandemic.

Shropshire Council’s Feedback and Insight Team will support with survey analysis and they hope the results will help form a baseline for future research. Coronavirus (Covid19) How to get a test (inc Easy Read)

If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (Covid19) you can get a throat and nose swab test to confirm whether you currently have the virus. This is part of the 5-pillar strategy for coronavirus testing. Testing is most effective within 3 days of symptoms developing, so the sooner you book a test  by calling 119, the safer we all become. You can request a test at home and a carer can help you or you can go to a a local testing centre.

There is a new number you can use to book your test. It is NHS 119. Also take a look at the new website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/

The following groups of people can ask for a test through the NHS website:

  • anyone in England and Wales who has symptoms of coronavirus, whatever their age
  • anyone in Scotland and Northern Ireland aged over 5 who has symptoms of coronavirus

The following groups of people can access priority testing through GOV.UK:

  • essential workers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland
  • anyone in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland over 5 years old who has symptoms of coronavirus and lives with an essential worker
  • children under 5 years old in England and Wales who have symptoms of coronavirus and live with an essential worker (this test must be performed by a parent or guardian)

For further information click on this link: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested#history
