Event description: This is your chance to witness the premier of Contact Dance Company’s breath-taking new work ‘Being Seen’. An extra ordinary ensemble of dancers with and without disabilities, draw you in to an evocative world of movement where the simplest of gestures lives alongside the wild and energetic.

Contact Dance Company has built a strong reputation for its powerful and eloquent brand of contemporary inclusive dance, full of depth and connection. Choreographer Jo Fong has been wowing audiences with her refreshing, energetic and playful dance-making; the combination will be a feast for the senses.

Being Seen introduces us to the quiet power of dancers, yet with the wild and uncontrollable always there, just below the surface. Being Seen explores equality, difference and togetherness and offers a poignant commentary coming from the moment we are living in.

Jo has worked with seven of the company’s dancers to produce an immediate, intimate and playful dance. The cast of disabled and non-disabled dancers will leave you in no doubt that this is the perfect time to catch inclusive dance at its best.

Event description: Shropshire Inclusive Dance are holding inclusive activities welcoming children & young people with additional support needs.

All 3 sessions will be at The Hive, 5 Belmont, Shrewsbury. Details as follows:

Friday 21st April Spring into Music for 4-11 years. This session takes place from 10 am-12 noon and costs £8 per person. This will be a musical adventure. We will use voices & dance and instruments.
Friday 21st April All Aboard Dance for 7 to 11 years will take place between 1 pm & 2.30 pm. Join Shropshire Inclusive Dance for this fun session. Cost £8 per person.
Friday 21st April Young Dance Movers will take place between 3 pm & 4.30 pm. This session is for 12-18 years. Join Shropshire Inclusive Dance & learn the basics of contemporary dance, create choreography and have fun. Cost £8 per person.
