There has been an amazing response from clubs & groups to host events for the first Inclusive Activity Roadshow. This coincides with the end of RIO 2016 Paralympic Games. With over 70 different sessions taking place, click on the links below to find out what is available in your area.Many of the sessions are FREE. Some are “one off events” but many are ongoing. Take this grand opportunity to find a new activity near you, or even to find a new interest.

Shropshire Council have produced this Draft Sports Facilities Strategy for 2016-2037 https://shropshire-disability.net/draft-sports-facilities-strategy-2016-2037/ This may be the right time for you to tell Shropshire Council if their proposals are the right way forward. This closes on 30th September 2016.Have Shropshire Council got their draft plans right. Go on, take the opportunity & have your say.

Shrewsbury group meets on Monday 26th September 2 pm -4 pm at Roy Fletcher Centre
Our meeting will be about Diabetes and also Healthwatch (the health and social care champion for people and local communities in Shropshire.)

We will be doing a gentle ‘Walking for health’ walk followed by some time deciding on session for the second half of 2016.

This will be a poetry, music and cream tea session! We’ll also look at forthcoming meeting plans and if there’s enough time find out more about the charity Esme’s Umbrella.

Shrewsbury Flower Show: 12th & 13th August
As in previous years, Sight Loss Shropshire are happy to collate requests and apply to the Horticultural Society for complimentary tickets.
Please let me know if you would like to attend the Flower Show before 20th June 2016
The ticket gives free entry on either day to a visually impaired person; carers will be admitted free of charge with supporting documentation (i.e. registration card), in line with the Horticultural Society’s accessibility policy. If the tickets are over-subscribed, preference will be given to people who did not have a ticket last year.
