Last month Shrewsbury Library successfully launched a Book Club for people living with chronic illness or disabilities. Carer(s) are welcome to accompany anyone who wishes to go along.
The next session is being held on Monday 17th December at 14:00. The book they will be reading is A Street Cat Named Bob by James Bowen and can be collected from Shrewsbury Library. There is no need for potential members to have a library card themselves and the library does have a couple of Quick Read editions and one DVD left.
Key points of the group are:
- – The Group is an hour-long but split between a half hour ‘coffee and chat’ (refreshments provided) and half hour book discussion. This is to cater to those who may struggle with concentration and to encourage a relaxed group.
- – Where possible, books will be provided in several formats (quick reads, DVD’s etc).
- – The group is run by someone living with chronic illness.
- – You can make recommendations can be made for future books.
