In addition, their A project began. The overall aim of the project was to uncover the forgotten – and sometimes hidden – history of lives in the Severn Valley landscape. The sandstone quarrying and coal mining industries flourished in the area during 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The landscape also sustained ferries, farmers, the Potter’s Loade and Wood Cottage tenants, as well as holiday makers in wooden cabins on the banks of the River Severn.
The project was supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Shropshire Council and The Jean Jackson Charitable Trust. To find out more about the project, please visit the website.
