Event description: This April, Theatre Severn welcomes renowned dance company the English National Ballet as they present My First Ballet: Coppelia.
My First Ballet: Coppélia tells the story of an eccentric toymaker, a beautiful doll (Coppélia), a pair of star crossed lovers, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity. Of course love triumphs over all and the finale is a breath-taking celebration of the lovers’ marriage.
The My First Ballet series brings young audiences their first taste of ballet through the magic of fairy tales, captivating music and beautiful dance. The ballets are danced by second year students of English National Ballet School in performances produced by English National Ballet.

My First Inclusive Ballet

English National Ballet School, in partnership with Kings College London, Widgit and Sign2Learn have been working together to make ballet more accessible to children with learning difficulties and disabilities.

In order to make the performances more accessible English National Ballet have created a range of bespoke learning resources. Using graphic symbols downloadable prior to the performance, families, carers and teachers of children with learning difficulties  and disabilities, can better help children’s understanding of the story, ballet and going to the theatre.

These resources are available to download now by going to http://www.ballet.org.uk/whats-on/my-first-ballet-coppelia/ and clicking on ‘Symbol Resources’
