Earlier this year we launched “Give Your Last Old £1 Coin to SDN” by giving out small containers for people to collect the old £1 coins to help our charity. This innovative idea to raise funding really is important and now with just days left until those old round £1 coins cease legal tender on 15th October 2017, it is time we seek your support.
There is still time to check your pockets, bags, drawers, cupboards and money boxes. We still containers available for you put these old coins in and donate to us.
We have had one or two containers returned but we know there are at least 12 more containers that we gave out still to be returned. Were you one of those people who took a container but still has not returned it? It a good time for you to return your container now.
So why give to us? Shropshire Disability Network is run in its entirety by volunteers (there are very few local charities led by volunteers, we are one of them. We have to fund raise to operate and this is a way you can help with our ongoing work. Ongoing costs include financing this website, paying for venues to hold meetings, public liability insurance including insuring all events, stationery, newsletter, publicity, equipment etc
Thank you to all who are supporting us. If you have a container or wish to donate your old £1 coins to us but don’t know how to get them to us call 07780 852 229 or email admin@shropshire-disability.net or secretary@shropshire-disability.net
NB: We will still take your old round £1 coins after Sunday 15th October!
