Keep Shropshire Warm scheme are still operating and supporting households across Shropshire who may be experiencing energy issues. They are seeing an increase in households struggling to pay their bills / afford their energy due to the ongoing covid19 situation, and are assisting in any way they can.
They are keen to remind residents that they are here to help should you be experiencing issues. Although they can’t currently undertake home visits – they can offer extensive support over the phone, online or by mail.
They have also set up a small energy crisis fund to assist those who may be struggling to top-up their energy meters, pay fuel bills etc as a result of changing circumstances as a result of the pandemic. Applications can be taken through the advice line.

Many of us are spending more time at home during the Coronavirus Pandemic – and using more energy at the same time!

Thousands of residents have been told by the government to self-isolate at home – causing potential issues for residents who pay for their gas and electricity by pre-payment meter. How can they help you?
- If you’re concerned about topping-up your meter – their advisors could help with free and impartial advice and support.
- Many energy suppliers have announced new support – they can check what your supplier is offering and speak to them on your behalf if needed.
