Event description: The Equality Act 2010 states that there is an obligation for employers and service providers to be able to anticipate the need of a customer or employee by having reasonable adjustments in place. In December 2014 a British actress with dwarfism sued the post office for discrimination as she could not reach the chip and pin machines in their branches and their was no reasonable adjustment made in order for her to do so. This resulted in the Post Office having to change the chip and pin machines in over 300 over their biggest branches to improve accessibility as they had not previously anticipated the need of those who may be wheelchair users or, in this case, have dwarfism.

By not anticipating need, you could be risking a law suit and a substantial amount of money to be lost. But how do we anticipate the need of our employees and/or clients when the need has not already presented itself or no-one has requested a reasonable adjustment? Join the debate!

This seminar is aimed at Managing Directors, Business Owners, HR and Equality and Diversity Officers and will take a look at current equality issues impacting on business, debate its impact and look at solutions the new Wave-length Well might provide in helping employers
