It was 2009 when the last Leisure Facilities strategy was produced for Shropshire Council. It is no longer fit for purpose; the landscape has changed considerably since then, both financially and from a local policy perspective.
Click on this link as Shropshire Council are seeking views on the ‘Draft Sports Facilities Strategy 2016 – 2037’, out to public consultation until 30 September 2016. The document is based on the need to identify a future for leisure facilities that are affordable, sustainable, future proofed and that deliver value for money.
SDN has contacted Shropshire Council to see if they can provide us with something in easy read.
We would encourage members to look at this & comment. Please take some time to read it, and send comments to facilitiesStrategy@shropshire.gov.uk no later than Friday 30 September.
Please consider -“Does this draft” tell you much about the needs & provision for people in this county who have a disability as the council looks to the future provision of Leisure Facilities?
SDN says “If you have friends or family that have no IT access for whatever reason let SDN know by calling 07780852229 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will seek help for you to be included in commenting.
