Shrewsbury Kids Diabetes UK Group (previously known as S.K.I.D. – Shrewsbury Kids Insulin Dependent) was initially set up in 2005 and was formerly set up as a charity affiliated to Diabetes UK in 2007/08, thus allowing the Group to fund-raise to support the various activities we aim to provide each year.  We send out quarterly newsletters to the families registered with us and these newsletters sets out our aims and also gives details of meetings, events and activities, together with contact details.  We meet four times a year as a committee.  These meetings are important to planning events and fundraising but they can be, in themselves, an opportunity to chat and discuss some of the frustrations or successes you may be facing in caring for a child with diabetes.
