Coronavirus update from Telford and Wrekin

From today (Friday 24 July), you must follow the government’s guidelines and wear a face covering in shops, supermarkets, banks, takeaways, on public transport and hospitals.

Additionally, Telford and Wrekin Council are making it mandatory for everyone visiting Telford & Wrekin Libraries to wear a face covering.

Remember to wash or sanitise your hands when putting on, or removing your face covering. Disposable face covers need to be bagged and placed in your waste bin – NOT in your recycling bin! Reusable face coverings should be washed regularly.

Exemptions include young children, people with breathing difficulties and people living with a disability. You can find out more information at this link:  https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own/face-coverings-when-to-wear-one-and-how-to-make-your-own?fbclid=IwAR0zxKo9PZMONN4BkGNpwWyVwHf-MTnARZrcixC6kTB5PvG05Urtx1kX9DE&utm_content=&utm_medium=email&utm_name=&utm_source=govdelivery&utm_term=

This is for your safety and that of our staff. A face covering may protect others and helps to reduce the spread of coronavirus.

Libraries in Southwater, Wellington, Newport and Oakengates are open but with reduced opening hours.

Here’s a reminder of what you need to know when visiting:
Wear a face covering
Use the hand sanitiser unit at the entrance to each library
↔️ Follow the directional signage for social distancing
Only return, browse & borrow books
Keep your visit to around 15 min, to ensure everyone has a chance to access the service
The use of public computers, printing, photocopying and all Council First Point services will NOT be available
