Event description: These Games, which are free to all competitors, are designed to give adults (18+) with disabilities, in particular learning difficulties, an opportunity to take part in activities they would not normally be able to access, and there is a range of sports available, all of them specially adapted so that everyone, regardless of their disability, can take part.
The range of sports includes:
- Archery,
- Cricket, Tennis,
- Cycling,
- Golf,
- Darts,
- Basketball,
- Table Tennis,
- Kurling and
- Bowls, as well as fun activities such as Penalty Shoot-Out, Skittles, Velcro Target, Boccia, Softball and Assault Course.
It is a great fun day out in the open air with the chance to try new activities, socialise, meet other groups, and picnic in the extensive grounds of the sports field.
The highlight for many competitors is the medal presentation ceremony at the end of the Games when everyone who took part receives a medal, and the day is often rounded off by some impromptu singing and dancing.
