Event description: Audio Described Performances-
Audio-description in theatre is a live verbal commentary on the visual elements of a production as it unfolds. The description gives only the essential information that a visually impaired patron might miss.

About the Performance: Carlos Acosta’s stunning version of the dazzling, Cervantes-inspired comedy receives its first UK performances outside London.

Based on Marius Petipa’s virtuoso ballet with music by Ludwig Minkus, Don Quixote introduces us to the eponymous knight himself, lovers Kitri and Basilio and a host of supporting characters. As the Don sets out on a quest to track down his true love, in the process he finds himself embroiled in an unlikely adventure of love and dreams.

Renowned for its virtuoso pas de deux, Don Quixote has never been danced by Birmingham Royal Ballet before. That is no longer the case as we welcome this vivid, exciting and large-scale production to the Hippodrome stage.
