Event description: On Moonlight Bay is part of our Dementia-Friendly Movie Matinees season: these screenings are relaxed screenings with the lights left on at a low level throughout the film, teas and coffees served midway through the film so we can all have a cuppa and a catch-up, and specially-trained ushers on hand to help with anything you may need.

About the film: In 1961, 60-year-old taxi driver Kempton Bunton steals Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. Kempton tries to ransom the painting, offering to return it if the government invests more in care for the elderly. What happened next became the stuff of legend and only 50 years later did the full story emerge.

Bob and Bernard don’t have that much in common. But after a chance meeting at their weekly hospice group, they realise they share one ambition – to do some serious living before they die. So, with a bottle of Bollinger and the keys to Bernard’s Bentley in hand, they hit the road, and take on one final, death-defying adventure.

This show was originally commissioned by London International Mime Festival, Dead Good is a funny and poignant theatre show celebrating friendship – and the importance of living every precious day to the full. This is an opportunity for you to go to an evening of powerful, thought-provoking short fantasy films produced by Arty Party.

Arty Party creates award winning films starring actors with learning disabilities which are shared at film festivals world-wide.

‘Secret Lives’ are an enticing and surreal trilogy of films adapted from original stories by best-selling fantasy author Jeff Vandermeer.

The evening includes a chance to explore a digital installation ‘The Cabinet of Secret Lives’, a curated selection of short films including ‘Secret Lives’ and a Q & A with the ‘Secret Lives’ actors.

The event will finish with a chance to dance your socks off with Arty Party members and DJ David Rickard.
