Audiology and hearing loss-Hot Topics

Healthwatch Shropshire have chosen Audiology and Hearing loss for their hot topic for April 2018.

It is estimated that 1 in 5 people in Shropshire, over 64,000, suffer from some degree of hearing loss. This is significantly higher than the national average for England. Healthwatch Shropshire is the local champion of the patient voice and would like to hear about experiences of NHS hearing loss treatment and support. Healthwatch Shropshire are aware that some people have been struggling to access ear suction services at their local GP and would like to get a more detailed picture of all audiology services and treatments both in GP practices and in hospitals and clinics.

They are very keen to hear about good service and treatment as well as poor; both experiences can provide valuable learning for local health services. Anyone who would like to help improve services is encouraged to contact them through their website www.healthwatchshropshire.co.uk or ring them on 01743 237884.

They would be very interested to hear not only from users but also carers, volunteers and staff members.

These experiences will be fed back to service providers and those who commission the services.  Any experiences received are passed on anonymously.
