Event description: This is the first of two workshops so part of a brand new training opportunity launched & aimed at supporting individuals to offer more disabled people of all ages the opportunity to take part in sport and physical activity. The Active Kids For All Inclusive Community Training is targeted at those who support disabled people, such as parents, carers, support workers, and healthcare professionals, to give them the confidence and knowledge required to teach sporting activities in a community setting.
This initiative is being delivered through the English Federation of Disability Sport and Sports Coach UK and is supported by a £1 million investment from Sport England as part of the Olympic and Paralympic legacy programme.
What does the training involve? 45 minute e-learning and online resources
Three hour practical workshop which will enable you to:
o learn about practical tools to support inclusive delivery
o explore creative ideas to support disabled people to access physical activity and sport
o complete a workbook that will support their activity sessions after the course
o learn about local disability sport opportunities for participants, leaders, volunteers and coaches.
