Event description: This is a charity evening, hosted by the Reverend Canon Mark Oakley, Chancellor of St Paul’s Cathedral & President of the Shropshire Horticultural Society, in aid of Combat Stress.

Receptions with a glass of wine & canapes.

Dr Guy Cuthbertson, the biographer of Wilfred Owen (18th March 1893-4th November 1918) will speak on Owen & Shropshire.

Paul Crabtree, British composer, has set to music two of Wilfred Owen’s poems specifically for this event-world première performances will be fitting tribute to Owen’s genius.
Performed by Patrick Craig, a professional counter-tenor who sings with the Tallis Scholars and is Vicar Choral of St Paul’s Cathedral Choir. Accompanied by ALex Mason, pianist & Director of Chapel Music at Shrewsbury School.

Combat Stress will be giving an introduction to their work in the county caring for veterans suffering from mental illness following their experience.
