Do you use busses to get out & about in Shropshire? Are they an essential to enable you to get to medical appointments, shopping, socialising etc. This is a public consultation, open to everyone so take the opportunity to say what is important to you.

Public transport provides access to many essential services, including those more vulnerable and those living in rural areas. Shropshire Council is facing considerable challenges and needs to set a strategy which ensures available budgets are spent in line with clearly defoined local bus priorities so you input is important

The consultation  closes on Monday 13th February 2017

31st January 2017

Start Time:
00.01

End Time:

This survey is open to individuals & organisations to give their views on what more Shropshire Council can do in light of its financial challenges due to ongoing cuts in government funding.

The Big Conversation survey asks residents questions about their community, health and the local economy (the three main priorities in the Council’s draft Corporate Plan).

Ophthalmology-Press Release by Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin CCG’s

Clarification on Ophthalmology-

We feel we should share this important press release with you.

“Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin CCG’s would like to address concerns regarding eye services in three sub-specialities being made temporarily unavailable to new referrals from January 2017.

This only affects a relatively small number of our patients, with the majority of people still receiving care in a community based setting. This care is delivered in community clinics in Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Oswestry, Donnington & Woodside via “The Practice”

The current practice across Shrewsbury and Telford & Wrekin for patients requiring non-specialised ophthalmology and treatment for glaucoma is that their referral is sent to the community based service. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE. Only those patients who require hospital specialised services within these sun-specialisms will be delivered direct to out of county providers. The majority of patients will notice little or no change.

A number of patients currently exercise their right to have treatment out of county and this option will continue to be made available.

Both CCG’s are committed to delivering the best possible care for patients & we would like to reassure them that they will continue to receive high quality ophthalmology services via community based clinics and other providers out of county”.

If you have any concerns or would like further information, please contact: Shropshire CCG:

Telephone: 0800 032 0897 or Email: SHRCCG.CustomerCare@nhs.net

NB: On 16th January 2017 Shrewsbury Macular Society Support Group will focus on this topic. Details here: https://shropshire-disability.net/shrewsbury-macular-society-focus-on-changes-to-ophthalmology-services-at-rsh/  If you wish to attend please let the group know.
