Event description: £5 from each ticket sold on promotion days at Osfest for this Shropshire Music Festival will be handed over to Oswestry Bone Cancer Centre Appeal. In December 2012 an appeal was launched to raise £500,000 towards a new £2 million bone cancer centre at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen. This new centre will be designed to treat cancer patients, the majority of whom are under 24 years of age. The centre will have en-suite rooms, treatment and relaxation areas and a garden reflection space. Event description: Shropshire Independence Advocacy Scheme is running this Mental Health First Aid 2 day course- MHFA is the help you give to someone experiencing health problems prior to professional help being obtained. It will help you promote well-being in your community and work place. The course costs £190 but this is negotiable. There are only 16 places available per course. Lunch facilities are available in the on-site cafe. When you have completed the 2 day training course you will be a Mental Health First Aider, have a Mental Health First Aid Manual & have a certificate evidencing your qualification. The Specialist MHFA trainers are accredited to deliver this MHFA course using materials supplied by Mental Health First Aid England. The aims the course are : To preserve life where a person maybe a danger to themselves or others. To provide help to prevent a mental health problem developing into a more serious state. It will also make you aware of Mental Health in the Community and reducing stigma and discrimination. To Promote recovery of mental health. To Provide comfort to a person experiencing Mental Health problems.
