Therapy Directory is dedicated to putting individuals who are searching for a practitioner, in touch with a professional who is both qualified and suitable for their needs. In addition, we are also passionate about increasing awareness of the positive benefits of complementary and alternative therapies. As well as being able to find a suitable therapist, visitors to the website are able to search for information on a wide variety of complementary therapies, find out what areas they could help with and read the latest articles written by therapists on the website.

Only once we have seen proof of qualifications and insurance cover, or proof of membership with a professional body, can therapists appear on Therapy Directory. This way those searching on our site can feel safe in the knowledge that will be dealing with a professional.

Shropshire RCC Carers Support Service

invites you to a seminar

Carers Rights: What You Most Need To Know

Friday 30th November 10.00 – 12.30.

Venue: Guildhall, Frankwell,Shrewsbury

  • Our keynote speaker will be Luke Clements, Professor atCardiffLawSchool, Director of the Centre for Health and Social Care Law and a solicitor with Scott-Moncrieff Associates LLP (London).
  •  Luke represents disabled and older people and their carers as well as acting as an adviser for many of the UK’s leading charities. He was involved in the drafting of the Bill’s that became the Carers (Recognition and Services) Act 1995 and the Carers (Equal Opportunities) Act 2004

What’s it all about?

Luke will give an overview of the rights of carers (and the people they care for) to social care support services, consider rights such as respite and short break care as well as the obligations on social services to undertake community care and carers’ assessments.

The session will also cover the new rights of carers under the Equality Act 2010 and briefly outline the Governments proposals for law reform.  Above all the sessions aims to be a forum where you can:

  • be updated on the important legal and policy developments concerning carers social care rights;
  • bring practical problems that have cropped up in your caring roles or work and obtain legal and practical advice on how best to resolve these;
  • clarify any areas of uncertainty you have concerning carers social care rights
  • raise any questions you have about the legal rights of carers in relation to health and social care services (including the rights of parent carers and young carers)

The event is free for family Carers
