Event description: Mrs Gill Burton has kindly offered Family Carers the opportunity to enjoy a tour of Longner House and gardens. This fine historic hall was designed in 1805 by John Nash and built on the site of the previous house for the Burton Family and it has grounds laid out by Humphrey Repton. Members of the Burton family have lived here sine the 14th Century.Everything in the house originates from the family. From the extensive lawns you will see beautiful views over the Severn Valley. There are borders are a mix of rose, herbaceous and shrubs also ancient Yew wood. There is walled garden with mixed plantings, garden buildings, tower and garden larder. There is a woodland walk around an old moat, this is unsuitable for wheelchair users. The tour lasts about 1 1/2 hours and then carers are free to explore the garden on their own. The tour is free to family carers but places are limited so it is offered on a first come first serve basis. Transport to Longner Hall is not provided but there are parking places available. Event title: Charity Midnight Walk for Nightingale House Hospice

Event description: Women from Shropshire are being called on to dig out their walking shoes and join a Charity Midnight walk. Last year was a 10 mile walk, this year it is 10km so only 6.5 miles!. The marshall lined event is to raise money for Nightingale House Hospice but it can also be used as a tribute to a loved one. Every penny raised counts as this year it will cost 2.54million to run the hospice, which equates to nearly £7000 a day. We only get 19% of this from the Local Health Board so this will run the hospice for just 69 days. We provide pallitive care not just for the people of Wrexham and the border counties but also Wem, Whitchurch, Ellesmere and Oswestry. Your help, support and generosity is greatly appreciated. Event description: The 30th June 2012 we will have an opening parade. This starts at Bellan School Oswestry and we will parade around Oswestry, led by the Porthywaen Silver Band. All Sports Clubs are invite to parade on foot and in their kit to publicise the games. We have our own Olli M games Mascott. Our Olympic medals have arrived and events are being added daily. We have our own Games Anthem and we have lots to do and celebrate in the year when Great Britain hosts London Olympics 2012.We have a hugh range of events taking place including Football, Athletics, Ten Pin Bowling, Boccia, Swimming, Golf, Cross Country and so much more. There is something for eveyone. Our closing ceremony on 15th July at 4.30pm which includes a parade of our medalists together with extingish of our olympic flame.
