Songs for You sessions

Art for Health have planned a second series of 8 sessions of Songs for You for people with Dementia and their carers –  to start on Thursday 1st September. The sessions will take place as before at the Trinity Centre, Meole Brace Church in Shrewsbury at 3-4pm (slightly later time).

There is a small charge of  £5 per couple for each session – over 8 sessions that will be £40.

The sessions are being supported by Midcounties Co-op Bicton Heath – who have kindly offered to cover the cost of the refreshments.

a cricket bat autographed by seven of the players in the side

who recently thrashed India at Tent Bridge.  Ian Payne,

head of the agency’s engagement department used to

play for Surrey & Gloucestershire cricket team so has

contacts within the game. Ian said” I am hoping it will

fetch a decent amount of money for a truly brilliant

charity”.

Shrewsbury Streets to be turned into a real – life Monopoly Board!

One-off Challenge in aid of Hope House Children’s

Hospice-Shrewsbury Streets to be turned into a real-

life Monopoly Board.

Date and Time:

More Info:

This event is the brainchild of Vivienne Band from

Clear Design Shrewsbury. Based on the traditional

game-famous London roads will be replaced with the

likes of Shrewsbury Abbey, The Boat House Pub,

Shrewsbury School & the Bridges-English, Welsh &

Kingsland will replace the 3 stations in the traditional

game.

 

Six teams are needed to come forward & each team

will be made up of 6 players, who will be provided with

costumes that represent pieces from the game. Each

team will be asked to raise £400 per team for the

Hospice, with the winning team receiving a mystery

prize. The aim will be for each team to make their way

round the course in the fastest time, with each

competitor taking on a different section of the board.

 

More excitement-if you land on the Shrewsbury Prison

spot, they will have to take a trip up to the jail or pay a
fine, so boosting the coffers of Hope House.

Rules will be obeyed as there will be marshals from

Clear Design & Hope House ensuring no cheating!

 

Following the event, an after party will be held for the

contestants to celebrate their achievements
