SDN Open Meetings
SDN Open Meetings are held 4 times a year and the next one is at Meeting Point House, Town Centre, Telford from 10.30am to 1.00pm. All are welcome.

Each meeting features an aspect of current disability issues in Shropshire. The meetings are led by our Chair Sonia Roberts and followed with a guest speaker/s presentation.
Our speakers have been selected to enthuse and inform. The topics are varied, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and raise points for discussion. Your views are very welcome and much sought after to inform the way Shropshire Disability Network provides for you. You might think the disability topics discussed aren’t specifically relevant to you, but we are confident that you will be surprised by how inspirational our speakers can be.
Next Meeting: Please note that this meeting will be at Telford NOT Shrewsbury, but we hope you will still make the effort to attend and meet others from that area.
Thursday 8th March 2012 10.30 am – 1.00 pm This meeting will be held at Meeting Point House, Town Centre, to give our members in that area a chance to attend without such a journey. Venue is Meeting Point House, Southwater Square, Telford Centre, Telford TF3 4HS
Two speakers are booked for this March meeting; Tina Jones from Listen Not Label, and Liz Holdsworth of Wace Morgan Solicitors who will speak about Lasting or Enduring Power of Attorney and how it affects choices in finance and health and social care needs and Third Party Top Ups for those needing residential care/health andsocial care and how the choices can be affected by finance- a subject which will be of great interest to long term carers.
Raffle: After the success of our first raffle in December 2011, we will be holding another raffle. Tickets are £1. Thanks you to those who provided raffle prizes in December. Margaret our volunteer organiser would be very pleased to hear from anyone wishing to donate a raffle prize for the March 2012 meeting. Margaret Barnes can be contacted on 07817748837

You will receive confirmation of your booking within 4 days, followed by directions to the Mereside Community Centre and the agenda, closer to the date. We look forward to meeting you!
