“I believe Shropshire Council is being grossly unfair on holders of blue badges by giving us no time to respond to this report. Blue Badges are extremely important to many vulnerable and less able people, often it takes us longer to form and write our responses. SDN has a fantastic website alerting its members to relevant and up to date information but can only do so if those in “power” give SDN information at the promised/agreed time, otherwise what is the point of engaging with such organisations? ”

“Even if you have computer access the timing is ludicrous. This is an absolute shame on Shropshire Council’s part, they obviously want this rubber stamped before it is in the public domain. Many people will not hear about this report until it is too late. What about people who have no IT access, it is impossible for them to reply by 4th April unless letters are hand delivered! Shropshire Council needs to get its act together regarding its website as links to items regularly do not work. Thank you for the encouragement to telephone the Council but will I get through? I am a Blue Badge holder so understand the difficulties many endure, which now having read the proposals are clearly not understood by those who make decisions and I believe it’s time for Shropshire Council to heed the successful challenges on two local authorities by Disabled Motorists UK.”
